This was painted surprisingly quick in under four hours ... I named her Reika cause I thought it was a pretty name!
recently all I've been wanting to paint is tea and coffee themed paintings this one I called "Tokyo Daydreaming" cause I have seen LOADS of images of Japanese sleeping in such crazy places. and i think it's funny she's not actually sleeping though... she's meant to be daydreaming staring into her coffee ofc
thanks! I like it in BxW but I also feel It would look nicer in maybe a sepia or even coloured with vibrant colours like a daydream... Idk. maybe i could experiment glad you like it
yeah the lighting and the reflections in general turned out to be the main focus of this painting... at first it was going to be bog standard coffee shop girl... then I started studying gnomon workshop's light and colour DVD and i got a bit engrossed reflections always were a bugger for me... I guess learning about light helps too I like the distortion in the wine glass... that was sooo easy and it took be about litterally five seconds but it looks awesome anywhoo thanks for liking it!!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
